Buying Cross Stitch Supplies from Mary Maxim

by Sara
(California)

Mary Maxim has excellent customer service. If I have questions about something I am ordering, I can call and they will actually retrieve the item so they can answer my questions!

What I like?

Customer Service can't be beat. I can order online, by mail or by phone. How ever I choose to order, I can pay by credit card or personal check.

They have a virtual catalog. I like looking at products the way I am used to seeing them. So, besides the online store, I can look at an actual catalog on my computer.

It has a neat ZOOM feature so I can see the details. If I can't find what I am looking for with the online search, I page through the catalog this way.

Products. They have towels, pillowcases, quilts, quilt squares, tablecloths, napkins, runners. Some of these are printed, so if you want counted cross stitch, watch out for this.

What I don't like?

Even though I like so much about Mary Maxim, what I don't like is a "biggie." They have a limited range of basic cross stitch supplies, like needles, hoops, fabric, floss, organizers, magnifiers, etc.

Online, they primarily show kits, either with or without the floss. I have purchased counted cross stitch kits in the past, and have been very happy with them. I wish they would expand their online products.

I like learning new crafts, so I tend to focus on one for a while and then move on to a new one. For that reason, Mary Maxim suits me. If you knit and crochet, this store is one to check out.

Katherine's Reply: I appreciate your thoughts on Mary Maxim. Customer service goes a long way to satisfying customers, and they seem to go beyond the call.
