Now Stitching...
Works in Progress 8

If you've come from the main "Now Stitching" page, this page will show you the steps that went before. You can follow projects from the glimmer of an idea through completion.

If you want to see the latest posts, click here to go directly to works in progress now.

I don't post new patterns until I have stitched them. But I can give you a sneak peek at what's in the works. Every few days we post a screen shot during design or a picture of designs as I'm stitching them.

This archive is the history of those posts.

The entries in this archive are in date order from top to bottom.

Garden Treasures Tulip Design
Ready for Stitching

I don't know about you, but I can't believe that school will be starting here in less than a month! I'm certain that the summer was shortened, somehow, and I just didn't get the memo. It's nearly time to start adding Christmas designs!

I'm onto my second Garden Treasures bookmark. It's amazing how one little idea can snowball (there's Christmas again!) into a life of it's own. It started with wanting to add a few little floss accents into the fringe of my bookmarks.

Easy enough to implement, not so easy explaining it in words! It was confusing, even to me.

A couple little diagrams will help, I thought. Well, those "couple" of diagrams evolved into eight detailed illustrations, a close-up picture, and a brand new web page.

Check it out here! Despite the detail, after you've finished one, you'll have it down pat.

It might even encourage you to add these kinds of "little extras" on your own. Come up with something neat? Let us know about it. Send a pic, too! You might just be someone else's inspiration!

Latest Works in Progress

Now that I'm designing, I almost never work on one project at a time. Sometimes that may be frustrating, but I find that different projects (or projects in certain stages) fit best in the time that I have at the moment.

So... While I've been stitching this tulip...

I've also been working on this alphabet. It's one of my almost-got-it-done designs from Christmas 2008...

...not to mention the page on adding floss accents to bookmarks and ornaments.

It makes for an interesting mix of activities, and now I need to add Christmas projects to the list. Friends in California say that stores are already beginning to display Christmas items! Talk about Christmas in July!

So, expect some Christmas patterns to appear here soon. If you have any special requests--greeting cards, ornaments, alphabets-- just send them along. Chances are yours will go to the top of the list.

Keep on Stitching,
